After harvesting, the seaweed is washed clean and then frozen to minus 500 C which releases all the seaweed content. Goëmar is the only seaweed spray containing all the most important growth hormones, vitamins and soil conditioning properties that are beneficial to soil, plant and animal health.
The species of seaweed in Goëmar, Ascophyllum nodosum, grows in the inter-tide area of the shoreline. It is subject to twice daily exposure to air and experiences pummelling of waves, a very harsh growing environment. The seaweed survives by being packed full of of Betaines (stress busters). Also, this species has no roots to absorb nutrients and produces new plant tissue by using hormones, called cytokinins, that absorb nutrients from the sea and then pumps them to growing areas.
All these growth and stress busting hormones are passed onto your grass to produce high sugar content grass that provides excellent food for you animals.

3. Goëmar Special Grass A Natural Product for Ireland, Goëmar Special Grass has been shown to be stored for up to 8 months in the grass. The recent trend is to grow grass high in sugar, with high dry matter and nitrates used up. This will promote healthier meat and mutton, and also increases protein in milk.
When using Goëmar part of the plants requirements for applied nitrogen can be left out. The balance of nitrogen in the soil is quickly used up then the hormones from the seaweed activate the plant. At this time unstable nitrogen is converted to Protected Protein and the sugar and mineral levels begin to rise. This drier, balanced finished food is less likely to ‘physic’ the animal’s digestive system, and all foods (including meal) remain in the animal for a longer time, maximising digestion. The trace elements are always an advantage to the grass and these are transferred to the stock and then to our diets.
